Background.   The NRCS Conservation Planning Technical Assistance Division is seeking six individuals to replace vacancies on the CART Improvement Feedback Team.

 
 
Explanation.  

The NRCS Conservation Planning Technical Assistance Division is seeking six individuals to replace vacancies on the CART Improvement Feedback Team. Two individuals are needed from the Southeast, and one individual is needed from each of the West and Northeast Regions.  In addition, Two Team leadership positions are also vacant.  These positions can be from any region however multi-region representation is desired.

 

Individuals selected will serve on a 2-year assignment to assist NRCS with improving CART quality assurance and reports. The duties of this detail are to spearhead and assist with tasks to develop new and innovative ways to retrieve data from CART. The selected individuals will comprise a committee, which will provide input on additional reports, datasets, and tools that may be useful at the state and area levels.

 

Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  •   Provide input and support to the NRCS Conservation Planning Branch on new and innovative ways to better manage, present, and apply data from CART
  •  Collaborate with other state leaders in your region to gain and consolidate pertinent information
  •   Meet twice a month to collaborate on updates
  •  Assist in the development of short- and long-term nationwide training strategies related to any tools or processes developed
  •  Recommend improvements for existing or new feedback and quality assurance mechanisms

 

Desired Qualifications (Team Members):

  • Grade level 12 or higher
  • Working knowledge of business tools; such as Conservation Desktop (CD), CART, Protract systems, and the National Easement Staging Tool (NEST)
  • Experience in coordinating and organizing meetings to gather regional data and orchestrate feedback information
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a part of a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  •  Committee will seek to include representation from each region and a mix of skillsets and experience, including geospatial skills, area level planning, etc.

 

Desired Qualifications (Team Lead):

  •  Grade level 13 (State or Area Office Leadership Role)
  •  Working knowledge of business tools; such as CD, CART, Protract systems, and the NEST
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating meetings to gather feedback from a wide variety of customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead working groups
  •  Critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

Assignment Details:

  •   Committee members will be located at the selectee’s current duty station with no travel
  •  Commit 10 hours a month or 120 hours throughout the year focused on headquarter CART issues
  •  Salary and benefits will continue to be paid by duty unit and location
  • Two-year commitment with an option to extend for an additional two years
