Expiration Date.   March 31, 2023

Background.   SRM is a professional scientific society and conservation organization whose members are concerned with studying, conserving, managing, and sustaining the varied resources of rangelands, which comprise nearly half the land in the world. Established in 1948, SRM has approximately 2,000 members in 48 countries, including many developing nations.

The 2023 SRM annual meeting offers important symposia, forums, and workshops for professionals in natural resource planning and management to gain information and skills relevant to their work. These sessions also provide the professional development and continuing education credits that are important in maintaining professional certification. Additionally, the 2023 SRM annual meeting provides valuable opportunities for NRCS employees to network with land managers, scientists, educators, students, conservationists, and other professionals engaged in the use and conservation of rangeland resources.

Explanation.   The theme of the 2023 SRM annual meeting is “Rangelands Without Borders.” The 2023 SRM annual meeting will focus on the research, education, and development of management technologies for stakeholder decision-making to help individuals and communities work together to manage resources in a sustainable, productive, and environmentally conscious manner. It brings range specialists and others working in the range field throughout the country and around the world to hear from other professionals and practitioners. The exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge available in the many concurrent sessions gives employees the opportunity to learn about ideas and experiences they may not have been aware of previously. Additionally, the networking opportunity with presenters, attendees, and vendors provides employees with valuable resources to turn to when seeking advice and guidance.
