NB 360-22-12 PER – Request to Identify & Prioritize CY 2023 Webinar Topics for the Science and Technology (S&T) Deputy Area
National Bulletin: 360-22-12 Date: September 7, 2022
Subject: PER – Request to Identify & Prioritize CY 2023 Webinar Topics for the Science and Technology (S&T) Deputy Area

Action Required By:  September 16, 2022

Purpose.  This bulletin provides States the opportunity to identify and prioritize webinar topics for the S&T deputy area’s calendar year (CY) 2023 conservation webinars presentation schedule.

Expiration Date.  September 30, 2022

Background.  Conservation webinars delivered through the S&T webinars site are an integral part of the products for our NRCS employees. During CY 2023, the S&T deputy area will continue to work from its strategic plan to implement the S&T Webinar Strategy. As part of this effort, it is critical that the training topics address the needs and priorities of the States. This bulletin provides the opportunity to propose topics for consideration and provide input from a national list of already proposed topics.

Explanation.  Through this bulletin, we are requesting two actions from State technical leads (State resource conservationists, State conservation engineers, and State soil scientists).

  1. Each State should propose a list of top five priority webinar topics to be delivered in CY 2023. Please note that the S&T deputy area is responsible to ensure our agency staff have the necessary scientific and technological resources to implement the NRCS conservation planning process in a sound manner. Topics included as part of this effort should be centric to addressing SWAPA+HE resource concerns through the use of conservation practice standards in the electronic Field Office Technical Guide. Please upload your list of proposed topics to the 2023 Webinar Topic Submissions SharePoint site by September 16, 2022.
  2. Each State can assist in prioritizing the topics received by providing input at the Your Vote Counts 2023 SharePoint site. This site will be used to consider all nationwide entries by September 30, 2022.
