UG 210-21-4 ENG - SITES Version 2005.1.11, Water Resource Site Analysis Computer Program and User Documentation
User Guide: 210-21-4      Date: April 21, 2021
Subject: ENG - SITES Version 2005.1.11, Water Resource Site Analysis Computer Program and User Documentation

Purpose.  To provide instructions for obtaining SITES Version 2005.1.11, Water Resource Site Analysis Computer Program and user documentation.

Effective Date.  Effective upon receipt.

Background.  USDA and ARS developed the SITES computer program for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of water control structure sites. SITES develops inflow hydrographs and uses the storage-discharge relationships in water control structure sites to route hydrographs through existing and potential sites. Users may enter these relationships directly or used SITES to computer them from given physical parameters.

This version corrects the rainfall data input of the NRCS 24-hour Type 1A rainfall distribution, and corrects the zoom in and zoom out feature for the watershed schematic. This version also allows the user to import hydrographs in new file formats from WinTR-20 software. This version contains no computational changes.

Distribution. NRCS tested and CCE certified SITES Version 2005.1.11 for the deployment to NRCS Information Technology Services (ITS) supported workstations on November 3, 2020. The project reference number is RFC # CRQ000003845609.

SITES Version 2005.1.11 replaces all previous versions of SITES. This directive cancels, deletes, and replaces the previous notification User Guide 210-15-6: ENG - SITES 2005, Version 2005.1.8, Water Resource Site Analysis Computer Program and User Documentation, dated April 16, 2015.

NRCS users are to obtain the SITES 2005, Version 2005.1.11 computer program through their ITS managers or self-install using the USDA-OCIO-CEC Software Center application. In the Software Center, users should search for SITES and click on the Sites2005.1.11 icon.

Filing Instructions. Users wishing to retain paper copies of the SITES documentation should place it in a three-ring binder adjacent to other technical directives.
