Subject: LTP - Joint Chiefs Landscape Restoration Partnership Project Reports – Fiscal Year (FY) 2020

Action Required By:   November 20, 2020

Purpose.   To provide State Conservationists with instructions for completing progress reports and final reports for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Forest Service (FS) Joint Chiefs’ Landscape Restoration Partnership (JCLRP) projects. A similar communication is being sent to your FS counterparts.

Expiration Date.   September 30, 2021

Background.   The goal of the JCLRP is to improve the health and resiliency of forest ecosystems where public and private lands meet. Annual progress reports for JCLRP projects describe the accomplishments achieved through these partnerships and the benefits to local communities. Final Reports describe the projects’ overall accomplishments, community benefits, partner support and involvement, and lessons learned. This information will be used to communicate the benefits of the restoration work accomplished through partnerships and evaluate levels of funding provided for continuing projects.

Reports should be jointly prepared and submitted by NRCS and FS. The final report template (Attachment A) should be used for projects initiated in FY18 and completed in FY20. The progress report template (Attachment B) should be used for JCLRP projects initiated in FY19 or FY20.

Explanation.   This guidance establishes reporting templates for JCLRP projects implemented in FY20. Progress and final reports, including relevant photos and press releases, should be submitted to the shared Joint Chiefs’ mailbox NRCS.FS.Joint.Chiefs@usda.gov by November 20, 2020.

Contact.   If you have questions about this bulletin or need additional information on the JCLRP, please contact Matthew Vandersande (matthew.vandersande@usda.gov) at 202-690-1588.
