Expiration Date.  January 31, 2020

Background.  The National No-Tillage Conference serves as an excellent venue for NRCS employees to gain additional knowledge and skills to assist producers to implement no-till systems. It provides information on equipment, pest management, nutrient management, cover crop management, soil health, and crop rotations. Additional information for this conference can be found at https://www.no-tillfarmer.com/events/211-2020-national-no-tillage-conference.

Explanation.   To attend this conference, the employee must be serving in a technical assistance role at the national, regional, State, area, or field office level. Certain restrictions are in place, so meeting these criteria do not guarantee travel approval. Priority will be given to those presenting, maintaining professional development continuing education credits, or receiving an award.

Travel requests are collectively considered with an agency attendance perspective. To obtain conference attendance approvals for NRCS employees wishing to attend this conference, State conservationists, Directors of the Pacific Islands and Caribbean Area, and national center directors are asked to complete and submit attachment A. This worksheet provides the information necessary to obtain conference attendance approvals in the Conference Transparency, Accountability, and Tracking (CTAT) system. Please complete the requested information as accurately as possible for each employee interested in attending this conference.

Return the spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel format—do not convert to pdf format. Return the spreadsheet to Julie DePue at Julie.Depue@usda.gov, with “National No-Tillage Conference” in the subject line, by August 30, 2019. The Ecological Sciences Division (ESD) will initiate the final CTAT entry. Each administrative office will need to prepare travel authorizations and cover related travel costs.

Contact.   If you have questions or concerns about the attachment, please contact Julie DePue, Administrative Assistant, ESD, at (202) 720-4716 or Julie.DePue@usda.gov.  If you have questions related to attending the conference for continuing education credits or other technical items, please contact Dana Ashford-Kornburger, National Nutrient Management Specialist, ESD, at (202) 205-9434 or Dana.Ashford@usda.gov.
