Subject: ECS – Highly Erodible Land and Certified Wetland Determination Workload Requests


Action Required By:  October 1, 2019
 
Purpose.  To request detailed State-level information about the workload associated with highly erodible land (HEL) and certified wetland determination requests for fiscal year (FY) 2019.   
 
Expiration Date.  September 30, 2019
 
Background.  The Agricultural Act of 2014 requires USDA to provide Congress with detailed State-level information concerning HEL and certified wetland determination workload.
 
Explanation.  State conservationists and directors of the Pacific Islands and Caribbean Areas must report their respective area’s HEL and certified wetland determination workload.

To provide an accurate assessment of this workload, each State or area is to populate the attached spreadsheet (CPA HEL and Wetland Determination Workload 2019) with the following information for FY 2019. No changes have been made to the prior year’s reporting requirements.

• Number of requests for and the number of completed HEL determinations
• Number of incomplete HEL determination requests
• Number of incomplete HEL determination requests that are greater than 1 year old since receipt by NRCS
• Number of requests for and the number of completed wetland determinations
• Number of incomplete wetland determination requests
• Number of incomplete wetland determination requests that are greater than 1 year old since receipt by NRCS

Please submit your completed spreadsheet to Jason Outlaw by October 1, 2019.
